Every colourway we make
Some storage hides in the corner. This one has a face. The 15x12 inch bear basket sits on a shelf, dresser or nursery floor with two-tone ears and a hand-embroidered face — and a lid that lifts off so small things disappear inside: hair accessories, board books, baby essentials, small stuffed animals, the bits that otherwise live loose on every surface. It is handcrafted from dense natural cotton rope, cute enough to be the reason people ask where you got it and durable enough to be handled by little hands every day — no plastic frame, no sharp edges, and hidden handles woven into the body. It may arrive gently compressed from shipping; one quick fluff sets the round shape. At about 15 inches across it is sized for the small stuff — if you need room for the whole playroom pile, the same bear comes in a bigger 18x15 inch open version. It gets bought as a gift as often as for the buyer's own home: baby showers, first birthdays, new-nursery setups. It arrives looking like a present before it is even wrapped. The handwoven White finish is photographed exactly as it ships. Spot clean with a damp cloth.
- A bear that eats the clutter — lift the lid, feed it the small stuff, and the handwoven bear with two-tone ears and an embroidered face turns cleanup into the cutest part of the room
- Sized for the small stuff — a true 15 inches across and 12 inches tall, right for hair accessories, board books, baby essentials, small stuffed animals or shelf clutter; a bigger 18x15 inch open bear exists for larger collections
- The lid keeps it tidy — the bear's matching top drops on to hide the contents and keep them dust free, and little hands can lift it without help
- Fun way to store, easy way to find — living on a shelf, dresser or floor corner, it gives every category of clutter a home a child actually remembers
- Cute AND durable — handcrafted from dense natural cotton rope with hidden woven-in handles and no plastic frame; it may arrive gently compressed, and one quick fluff sets the round shape
- A gift that gets used — baby showers, first birthdays and new-nursery setups; it arrives looking like a present before it is even wrapped
- Pick your bear — the handwoven White finish with matching ears is photographed exactly as it ships and fits nursery, kids room and playroom decor alike

Folded flat, in a small box
It arrives folded. Two minutes later it stands up.
Every basket ships flat to keep it out of a bigger box. Open it, pull the sides apart, fluff it up and run your hand around the rim and the ears. It holds its shape from then on — no frame, no liner, no plastic ring.
It comes out of the box pressed flat, ears and all. That is on purpose — it keeps the shipping box small.
What actually fits in it?
Photographed beside a dining chair, because a basket on a white background could be any size. It swallows an evening's worth of floor clutter and still stands up on its own.
The material
There is nothing hard in it.
Double-woven cotton rope, 10 mm thick, and that is the whole basket. It weighs variant.weight empty, and the box it arrives in weighs about the same. No wire ring, no cardboard base, no plastic liner, no metal frame. It stands up because the rope is thick, not because there is something rigid inside it.
The ears are the same rope as the body, woven as tapered pieces and stitched to the rim — the only seam on the basket, and there is still nothing rigid in it.
It looks expensive online. It feels worth it in hand.
That is the thing buyers say most often after it arrives: it looked overpriced on a screen, then felt worth it once they picked it up. The rope is heavy. The weave is tight. Photographs flatten both.

Who makes this
You probably arrived from a search. Here's who we are.
Cottonphant makes one thing: storage baskets woven from 100% natural cotton rope. Every basket is handwoven and shaped by hand. Six shapes, up to thirty colours each — and no frames, liners or wicker anywhere in the range.
The five things parents ask before they buy
Why does it arrive flat?
To keep the shipping box small. Pull the sides apart, push the base down and run your hand around the rim — about a minute — and it holds that shape from then on, empty or full.
Will it stand up on its own?
Yes. The rope is double-woven and thick enough to hold the shape without a frame, a liner or a plastic ring. It stays upright empty as well as full.
Will the colour look like the photograph?
Every colourway is photographed in daylight and adjusted for brightness only, never colour-corrected per basket. Each swatch on this page is a photograph of the rope itself.
How do I clean it?
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and let it air-dry. It is cotton rope with nothing inside it, so there is no liner or frame to damage.
Should I buy here or on Amazon?
Either — it is the same basket from the same stock. We recommend Amazon because returns are free and easy there. Buying direct costs you 5% less with code COTTON5.
